Global textile innovator Camira has unveiled Nesta, a new recycled polyester bouclé fabric inspired by our instinct to seek comfort, refuge and sanctuary. Named after the idea of nesting, Nesta has been created to bring warmth, softness and tactile richness to contemporary interiors, offering designers a fabric that feels reassuringly familiar while meeting the demands of modern commercial spaces.
With its inviting bouclé texture and gently muted palette of 27 colourways, Nesta creates spaces that encourage people to pause, unwind and feel at ease. Drawing inspiration from natural places of shelter, the collection explores earthy neutrals, weathered greens, soft sky blues and woodland-inspired tones, while colour names such as Warren, Den, Rest and Dwell reinforce the fabric's story of comfort and belonging.
Inspired by circular design principles, Nesta incorporates textile-to-textile recycled polyester alongside post-consumer recycled plastic bottles. Its mono-composite polyester construction also supports recyclability at the end of its life, while delivering the durability, consistency and performance required for high-use commercial interiors.
Although richly textured and soft to the touch, Nesta is engineered for specification for the modern demands of commercial spaces. Its refined bouclé appearance evokes the warmth and character associated with natural fibres, while offering the performance advantages of polyester, including excellent dimensional stability, colour consistency and seam slippage. Suitable for task seating, soft seating, curtains and drapery, Nesta brings a welcoming residential aesthetic to workplaces, hospitality settings, education and other commercial environments.
"Nesta was created for spaces where people feel comfortable, connected and at ease," said Camira’s Creative Director Lynn Kingdon. "As workplaces and public interiors become increasingly people-centric, designers are looking for materials that support wellbeing without compromising on performance or sustainability. Nesta brings these qualities together in a fabric that is both reassuringly tactile and consciously designed."
Nesta joins Camira's growing portfolio of fabrics developed to support more responsible material choices while helping designers create interiors that people genuinely enjoy spending time in.
