Arper: Catifa (RE) 46 by Lievore Altherr Molina
An icon in a new light.
Catifa 46 stands as a milestone in Arper’s design history - a modern classic that has captivated with its clean lines and timeless elegance since its debut. Now, the icon enters a new chapter, reimagined to meet contemporary demands for sustainability, comfort, and design versatility.
The updated shell is crafted from 100% recycled plastic, sourced from a blend of post-consumer and post-industrial waste. It introduces not only a refined texture but also a natural, earthy color palette inspired by sustainable architecture. The result is a surface rich in depth and character, offering a tactile experience that complements its visual appeal. The back of the shell features a distinctive, structured finish with subtle color variations - a nod to the original’s two-tone design and a fresh expression of identity.
For enhanced comfort, Catifa (RE) 46 is paired with a new BREATHAIR® cushion, a breathable, elastic, and fully recyclable material that molds perfectly to the shell’s contours. This fusion of technical precision and soft tactility adds a new dimension to the chair’s design.
Available in eight carefully curated shades, from ivory and rust to midnight blue, Catifa (RE) 46 can be configured to suit a variety of settings. Choose between wood or steel bases, with or without armrests, for both indoor and outdoor use. The collection also includes two barstool versions in different heights, underlining its adaptability.
Catifa (RE) 46 is more than a redesign - it’s a statement of progress through sustainable design.
