Arper has equipped the restaurant ‘The Roof Cortina’ in the ski resort of Cortina d'Ampezzo with the sustainable ‘Catifa Carta’ chairs by Lievore Altherr Molina.
The ‘Aom’ collection comprises sofas and armchairs whose design is guided by the principle of reduction. Less is more! More quality and lightness, more possibilities for use. But reduction also means responsibility here: an approach reduced to the essentials in terms of materials and construction minimises the ecological footprint and anchors sustainability in the design. With its minimalist and unconventional style, Aom adapts naturally to different environments. Whether in a lounge or waiting area, on a terrace or in an open-plan outdoor area – the light appearance and construction of the seating furniture offer flexible uses and allow freedom of movement and uncomplicated use. Aom can be used both indoors and outdoors and is available as a one, two or three-seater version. Its lightweight construction means it can be easily moved or reconfigured.
The sustainability of Aom is primarily reflected in its construction: materials designed for durability and recyclability, few components, simple assembly. The entire collection is based on just two components, designed as interlocking elements: a frame made of expanded polypropylene (EPP), lightweight and durable, combined with Breathair® upholstery. The latter is an innovative, recyclable polyester elastomer that offers high comfort and is characterised by its elasticity, breathability and water resistance. Thanks to this unique combination, polyurethane can be completely dispensed with – a significant achievement, as recycling this material is very costly.
