At the world’s leading trade fair for HVAC and water in buildings the focus is traditionally on water and energy. This year the ISH presents itself in a new guise from March 11 to 15 and boasts numerous innovations that will pleasantly surprise guests. France is the partner country this year, following on from Poland and Turkey. And things get off to an earlier start: Rather than beginning on Tuesday as usual trade visitors can enjoy touring the halls from Monday. This change in sequence means guests get an additional day – and they will need it: Over 2,400 exhibitors from Germany and abroad will soon be presenting their products at the trade fair that focuses the responsible management of water and energy in buildings and sets trends for modern bathroom design, sustainable heating and air-conditioning technology as well as intelligent home systems. There will also be several alterations in venues: Thanks to the construction of the new Hall 12, the ISH will have greater space for groundbreaking products. And this reallocation of space was also used to alter the weighting of themes addressed at the fair. Consequently, visitors can look forward to a more transparent structure in terms of themes and exciting subjects within the traditional focuses of ISH Water und ISH Energy. For example, ISH Water offers intelligent water management systems, solutions for sustainable drinking water purification, and practical ideas for the therapeutic bathroom experience. In addition, there are sustainable sanitation solutions and a look at the world of contemporary bathroom design. Among other things, ISH Energy places the focus on digital heating technology, modern heating systems, heating with wood, and perfecting indoor air quality. Smart Building is another subject that is gaining momentum: For example, the Internet of Things (IoT) in combination with Building Information Modeling (BIM) offers numerous potential applications.

Consequently, visitors can look forward to a more transparent structure in terms of themes and exciting subjects within the traditional focuses of ISH Water und ISH Energy.

A comprehensive accompanying program subdivided into three categories, namely selection@ISH, skills@ISH and career@ISH completes the range of offerings at the fair. Plenty of color is on display in the special show “Pop up my Bathroom” in the foyer of Hall 4.0: The subtle shades customarily found in bathrooms are joined by rich colors in the guise of highly varied bathroom ceramics via fittings, bathroom furniture and tiles. Simultaneously, in cooperation with the German Design Council in Hall 4.2 the Design Plus competition showcases innovative products that boast an ideal combination of sustainability, attractive appearance and functionality.

In the field of further training the accompanying program also offers numerous seminars and talks in skills@ISH and career@ISH, respectively. Guests looking for digital assistance to find their way round the trade fair can use the free ISH Navigator App which offers a interactive planand an interactive plan of the fair complex. Those that prefer a more personal touch can join daily guided tours of the fair. And on closer inspection it is evident that the overall look of the ISH has undergone a substantial makeover: The key visual is much clearer and will appeal more directly to target groups than was previously the case.
