For Thonet, Jil Sander has ventured into the world of furniture design for the first time, reinterpreting the most famous tubular steel classics from the late 1920s as part of the JS . THONET Signature Collection. Under the title SERIOUS, Jil Sander, in close collaboration with the Thonet design team, has refined the tubular steel classic S 64, the S 1070 table, the S 411 armchair, and the B 97 side table with a frame in a glossy titanium finish. The seating furniture in this version features leather-upholstered seat and back cushions in four color options: Graphite Black, Graphite Ruby Red, Graphite Green, and Graphite Blue. The wooden frames of the seat and backrest, as well as the armrests, are finished in a high-gloss lacquer in matching colors. Additionally, the S 64 is available in a version with a seat and backrest made of dark-colored DARK MELANGE tubular wicker. The S 1070 table and the B 97 side tables are available with high-gloss lacquered tabletops in the colors Graphite Black, Graphite Ruby Red, Graphite Green, and Graphite Blue. Since the tabletop of the S 1070 consists of two separate, longitudinally divided elements, both a single-color and a two-color version can be selected. The B 97 SERIOUS side tables are also available in the Nero Marquina Gloss marble finish. These holistically conceived, luxurious interpretations highlight the design quality of the original concepts and, through their subtle refinements, bring out every design subtlety. As an exclusive detail, all products in the JS . THONET collection feature the collection name and Jil Sander’s signature as a delicate engraving on the tubular steel frame. This underscores the exceptional quality and authenticity of the designs.
