For Thonet, Jil Sander ventured into the world of furniture design for the first time and reinterpreted the most famous tubular steel classics from the late 1920s as part of the Signature Collection JS.THONET. For the NORDIC line, the S 64 cantilever chair, the S 1070 table, the S 411 armchair, and the B 97 side tables were given a frame with a warm, matte nickel silver finish. The wooden elements are crafted from white-pigmented oak. The seat and back cushions of the seating furniture are upholstered in leather in the shades Light Caramel, Burnt Walnut, or Alabaster White. The S 64 is also available as a version with a seat and backrest in light wickerwork. The B 97 side tables have been equipped for the NORDIC line with a tabletop made of matte Glacier marble. These holistically conceived, luxurious versions emphasize the design quality of the original designs and, through their subtle enhancement, bring out every design nuance. As an exclusive detail, all products in the JS THONET collection feature the collection name and Jil Sander’s facsimile as a delicate engraving on the tubular steel frame. This underscores the exceptional quality and authenticity of the designs.
