Ingo Maurer: Nalum by Sebastian Hepting
Flowing Light – A sculptural wave of glass that redefines spatial geometries.
With NALUM, Ingo Maurer presents a sculptural pendant lamp that translates the dynamics of waves and light into a delicate glass object. Designed by Sebastian Hepting, the piece combines a floating, wave-shaped glass tube with distinctive, individually positionable surfer figures. Inside, a linear light source with a color temperature of 2,700 Kelvin provides warm white light that illuminates the room as indirect uplight and highlights tables or work surfaces as direct downlight. For maximum flexibility, the approximately 125-centimeter-long luminaire is available in two versions: The wireless dimming variant offers separately adjustable light components with 4,850 lumens, while the multiple-dimming version, with 6,000 lumens, relies on simple phase dimming or 0–10 V control via a wall switch, allowing it to integrate seamlessly into professional building automation systems.
