The new versions of Ipno are based on the optical principle of the suspension model
presented at the last edition of Euroluce.
A key feature are the optics, which create an almost magical effect by plying the light
in total transparency with superior emission control achieved thanks to soft and sinuous
geometric shapes.
The innovative optics direct the light and concentrate it downwards, opening up into
soft, direct light emission.
The optics function according to a principle of TIR (Total Internal Reflection), taking shape
as the light travels through the material, yet only a minimal percentage of light is emitted
into the room in a diffused and uncontrolled manner.
In the new suspension model, the optics are housed in a metal disc that stretches out
softly into a cone towards the suspension point, emphasised by a subtle light detail.
Thanks to the use of colour, this element changes the perception of the Ipno suspension
lamp: balanced and strikingly simple in white, or more unexpected and valuable yet
nevertheless elegant in the version combining a gold interior and a black exterior.
Ipno merges tradition with innovation in a harmonious shape, combining manufacturing
expertise with optical savoir-faire.
In the wall lamp version, the optics are supported by a simple white structure, designed
to permit installation facing either up or down, so the lamp can be used for direct or
indirect lighting.
