Architecture for breathtaking views: Foster+Partners has designed an exciting high-rise complex in London. Rieder, the experts for fiberglass-reinforced concrete, helped realize it.
Due to its formability fibreC can lead smoothly over edges. fibreC 3D formparts are only 13 mm thin and available in various forms such as U, V, or L-section. An intelligent mounting system with integrated fastening anchors allows quick and economical installation. As a pillar trim, atikka, pilasters, window sill or as a creative design element fibreC 3D formparts offer a variety of design possibilities for architects and planners. Despite their length of up to 3.6 meters in a piece they can be fixed with only two fastening points per element. Due to the low weight of the just 13 mm thin elements and the high spans width less material in substructure is needed. Therefore fibreC 3D forms provide an economical solution for the entire building envelope.
+ shaped elements with only 13 mm thickness
+ concealed fastening with integrated brackets
+ offsite pre-assembly of fastening brackets
+ fast and easy installation onsite
+ monolithic appearance
+ less sub-construction due to weight and span width
+ only 2 fastening points per element
+ no scaffold needed, same lifting Equipment as for glass elements
Eurostars Book Hotel Munich
Book pages made of fibreC 3D
The glassfibre concrete facade at the Eurostars Book Hotel in Munich is part of a fabulous design idea. The architecture of the building is devoted to the most cultural object in history: the book. Each floor is dedicated to a literary genre; the corridors and guestrooms pay tribute to the great writings of world history and the façade is full of pages. The shaped facade elements from Rieder represent curved book pages that protect from direct sunlight.
In the design of cladding, there are hardly no limits for planners and architects with fibreC. The selection of ten different colours in each of three surface forms the basis. In line with current trends and developments, fibreC offers a range of additional procedures for the creation of individual building shells. With a speciallydeveloped method, it is possible, to make glassfibre reinforced concrete flow around corners, or produce formed elements. Extraordinary building envelopes such as the pages of the Eurostars Book Hotel are the result of this advanced handling wit concrete.
