Catifa (RE) 46 - Update

Catifa 46 is a timeless icon and a cornerstone of Arper’s identity. Since its debut, it has redefined the language of design with elegance and versatility. With Catifa (RE) 46, the collection undergoes its most significant renewal, beginning with a contemporary reinterpretation of materials: the shell is made using 100% recycled plastic, sourced from a blend of post-consumer and post-industrial material, and distinguished by a rich, distinctive texture inspired by sustainable architecture — a choice that renews its materiality while preserving its identity. A slender, refined edge defines the fluid profile of Catifa (RE) 46. An essential line that accentuates its lightness and balance — a pure expression of a suspended form, open to new possibilities. In 2026, the collection evolves with new bases and the introduction of fully upholstered versions. Versions with a seat pad and front upholstery are presented as a preview. The upholstery is applied without the use of glue: a choice that allows materials to be easily separated at the end of the product’s life cycle and supports recyclability, representing a further step forward in the commitment to redefining beauty through sustainability. Particularly comfortable thanks to the different upholstery solutions, Catifa (RE) 46 also introduces a new softness, visually as well. The shell of Catifa (RE) 46 is available in eight shades: ivory, anthracite, moorland green, midnight blue, rust, espresso, moon white and black. The shell pairs with six bases, allowing it to meet a wide range of needs and adapt to different environments: four-legged wooden base, four-legged metal base, sled base, technical sled base, trestle base (with or without castors), and five-star base on castors. All chair bases, with the exception of the four-legged wooden base, can be configured with optional armrests to provide greater comfort and support. The four-legged steel base and sled base versions are also suitable for outdoor use. To ensure even greater versatility, Catifa (RE) 46 is also available in a stool version, in two different heights (64 cm and 76 cm), both configurable with either a sled base or a swivel trestle base. The collection is completed by a seat cushion — also for outdoor use — made from BREATHAIR®, an elastomeric polyester that is elastic, breathable, water-resistant and fully recyclable, available for both the chair and the stool versions.
